Genesis 1:27 – “God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female he created them.”
Isaiah 55:8 – “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are my ways your ways,” declares the Lord.
Proverbs 3:19-20 – “By wisdom the Lord laid the earth’s foundations, by understanding He set the heavens in place: by His knowledge the deeps were divided, and the clouds let drop the dew.”
We are reflective of God’s image.
God is UNDERSTANDING
Does God have emotion?
Psalm 2:4 – “The one enthroned in heaven laughs; the Lord scoffs at them.”
God is COMPASSIONATE
His compassion is shown through the creation of His son Jesus Christ.
2 Cor. 1:3 – “Praise be to the God and father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort…”
Isaiah 49:15 – “can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will never forget you.”
God is ATTENTIVE TO OUR NEEDS
God is a GREAT COMFORTER
2Cor. 1:3-4 – “Praise be to the God and father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort , who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.”
God is GRIEVED
Genesis 6:6 – “the Lord was grieved that he had made man on earth, and his heart was filled with pain.”
God FEELS DISTRESS
Ps. 30:5 – “God’s anger lasts a moment, but His favor lasts a lifetime.”
Is. 63:9 – In all of Israel’s distress, God, too, was distressed.”
God is a CREATIVE GENIUS
Neh. 9:5-6 – And the Levites-Jeshua, Kadmiel, Bani, Hashabneiah, Sherebiah, Hodiah, Shebaniah and Pethahiah-said: “Stand up and praise the LORD your God, who is from everlasting to everlasting. Blessed be your glorious name, and may it be exalted above all blessing and praise. You alone are the LORD. You made the heavens, even the highest heavens, and all their starry host, the earth and all that is on it, the seas and all that is in them. You give life to everything, and the multitudes of heaven worship you.
